TAG Heuer
The story of TAG Heuer dates back to 1860, when the company was founded by Edouard Heuer. For the next 100 years, Heuer became chronograph specialists. That tempo only increased when Jack Heuer joined the family business, introducing the iconic Autavia in 1962, the Carrera one year later, and as part of a consortium, the Caliber 11 in 1969, one of the first automatic chronographs. This was the movement that powered the Monaco worn by Steve McQueen in Le Mans. The modern era of TAG Heuer began in 1985 when Techniques d’Avant Garde acquired the brand, followed by the LVMH group acquisition in 1999. One thing hasn’t changed over the years, however: TAG Heuer is still the master of the chronograph.
