Chanel
More famous for haute couture than haute horlogerie, Chanel nonetheless has a strong record when it comes to watchmaking. The Parisian fashion house’s first watch was 1987’s Première, but it was a model that debuted in 2000 that made Chanel a hit on the wrist.
The J12 offered a smart combination of sports aesthetic and sleek chic thanks to its avant-garde full ceramic construction. In part due to the brand’s canny investment in independent watchmaker Romain Gauthier in 2011, Chanel now boasts exclusive in-house calibers and Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève honors for watches such as the Boy.Friend Skeleton and the J12 Caliber 12.1.
