Introducing Hanhart #FliegerFriday Pilot’s Watch
The Low-Down
In case you are new to the world of Flieger or pilot’s watches, the hashtag #FliegerFriday has been a phenomenon almost from the first Friday it started back in 2015. Now noted German Flieger watchmaker Hanhart has launched a new Flieger and they are dedicating this new limited edition to the hashtag.
The concept of #FliegerFriday has been gaining popularity steadily over the years and has become a household word on social media among watch collectors. Behind the hashtag is the pleasurable experience of starting the weekend with a favorite pilot’s watch.

This 42mm limited edition watch features a royal blue bi-compax dial which comes on a blue ox leather strap complete with a suede finish and red accents.
The Hanhart #FliegerFriday Limited Edition perfectly encapsulates that passion with a watch that offers excellent readability, ease of use and absolute robustness.
This 42mm limited edition watch features a royal blue bi-compax dial which comes on a blue ox leather strap complete with a suede finish and red accents. The black stainless steel DLC coated case with red pushers completes the design. The diamond like coating makes it a watch built to withstand a rugged lifestyle year in and year out.

The watch runs on automatic HAN3809, which is based on either ETA 7750 or Sellita SW500 base calibers with La Joux-Perret modification

The bi-compax displays a 30-minute register at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock.

The other key Hanhart feature is the ease of legibility, thanks to Super-Luminova coated roman numerals and hands.
The watch runs on automatic HAN3809, which is based on either ETA 7750 or Sellita SW500 base calibers, but they are modified with La Joux-Perret module for the asymmetrical chronograph pusher between 1 and 2. The bi-compax displays a 30-minute register at 3 o’clock, and small seconds at 9 o’clock. The 30-minute register hand is in red to easily identify the function. The date at 6 o’clock is practical and useful for travelling.
Limited to just 100 pieces #FliegerFriday is destined to become a collector’s piece even before the chocks are pulled away.
IMHO
Hanhart is best known for its vintage pilot watches. The company can be dated back to the 1920s when it began to enter the market with mechanical stopwatches. Currently, the brand offers mid-priced pilot’s, rally car, and diver watches with vintage appeal. This limited edition in a bold royal blue dial with matching bold strap is a refreshing chapter in the usually subdued black dial of a pilot’s watch. This is an admirable modern-day pilot’s chronograph.
Also noteworthy is the fact such a well-respected brand has launched a limited edition devoted to the #FliegerFriday hashtag is testimony to the growing popularity of the concept among pilot’s watch enthusiasts and collectors.
