Thus in continuing the celebration of 70 years of horological excellence, Sincere Fine Watches has partnered with the venerable watchmaking house of Ferdinand Berthoud to unveil the Chronomètre FB 1RES.3 Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition. 

The exclusive COSC-Certified chronometer is housed in a 44mm platinum octagonal case, bearing a shape that’s a hallmark of Ferdinand Berthoud’s design ethos. To soften the color palette, the satin-brushed salmon dial crafted from gilded 4N nickel-silver adds a refined yet subtle finish.

Yet the timepiece goes beyond surface beauty. It is powered by the Calibre FB-RES.FC, an intricate movement that combines a fusee-and-chain transmission with a one-second remontoire. This mechanical innovation ensures a steady release of energy from the barrel to the escapement, maintaining an unwavering level of accuracy over its 50-hour power reserve. The inclusion of a “remontoir d’égalité,” or constant-force mechanism, allows the watch’s central seconds hand to move with precision, advancing in one-second intervals, a feature known as a deadbeat or true-beat seconds mechanism.

Flipping the timepiece over reveals the intricate artistry of the Calibre FB-RES.FC. Each wheel, bridge, and screw is meticulously hand-decorated, along with every visible component of the movement that’s hand-bevelled and polished with expert precision, achieved through over 250 hours of finishing. 

A standout design element is the three bridges that extend from the mainplate and converge at the center of the dial. Positioned between 3 o’clock and 6 o’clock, this design not only highlights the architectural balance of the dial but also emphasizes the openness of the watch, revealing glimpses of the movement beneath. A power reserve indicator at the 9 o’clock position completes the dial’s technical yet harmonious layout.

For Sincere, this collaboration is a celebration of its journey in curating fine watches and the values that have guided the company over the decades. The commemorative aspect is subtly engraved on the side of the case at the 9 o’clock position, where Sincere’s Platinum Jubilee emblem marks this momentous anniversary.
