Ed Sheeran Wears An All-Blue Timepiece For Ipswich Town At Premier League’s Opening Weekend
The English Premier League is back for yet another season. And that means we’ve returned to watchspotting in the tunnel arrivals; the boys of the Arsenal team showed up wearing only Rollies, while Pep Guardiola had a successful opening game with a bright Greubel Forsey to match his high spirits.
Also spotted in the box at newly-promoted Ipswich Town’s debut game against Liverpool was Ed Sheeran, who has deepened his ties with Ipswich Town by acquiring a 1.4% minority stake in the Premier League club. But don’t look at the Suffolk singer as a football pro — Sheeran’s investment is seen as a symbolic gesture of support rather than a move to influence club decisions, as he will not join the board and his role remains “passive and minority.” Sheeran, who has been Town’s main shirt sponsor since 2021, also designed the club’s Suffolk-inspired third kit.
And in keeping on theme, Sheeran wore a dressy blue timepiece to match the Ipswich colors — an F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu. (Though he did however wear the AP RO blue ceramic QP in his announcement post here):

F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu
The F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu shows off a striking metallic chrome blue dial, which shifts from deep black to bright blue depending on the light. There’s nothing complex to it; there’s no gimmick, yet it is its most captivating feature. The dial is created through a meticulous process involving multiple layers of hand-applied lacquer, each one mirror-polished to perfection. Only the flawless dials are retained, making the production process both challenging and wasteful.
Complementing the dial is a case made of tantalum, one of the hardest metals to machine, which adds to the watch’s exclusivity. The timepiece also features a pink gold movement visible through the caseback, which says nothing less about the brand’s technical and aesthetic excellence.
