Czapek & Cie Unveils the Exclusive Antarctique S Mirrored Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition
We’re still in the thick of Sincere Fine Watches‘ 70th anniversary celebrations, and so far they’ve presented exclusive editions from their partners, namely Moritz Grossmann, Chopard, H. Moser & Cie, Lang & Heyne, and more recently Laurent Ferrier, with whom they launched the Grand Sport Tourbillon Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition.
So this edition with Czapek & Cie marks the sixth, and is presented in a special edition of the Antarctique S Mirrored. Limited to just 38 pieces, this Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition features two world-first innovations for Czapek: a mirrored silicon wafer dial and a bimetallic bracelet and case.
Czapek’s first mirror-dial watch
Immediately, a mirrored surface makes for an extremely pristine façade. Save for the hour and minute hands, and the sweeping seconds that casts a faint shadow across the silver surface, this special Antarctique S presents a face that’s nothing less than flawless — even a small speck of dust isn’t immune to the reflective exposé. In achieving this, the dial is made from a single silicon wafer that’s coated with a thin layer of platinum.
But beauty runs deep, because for Sincere Fine Watches, the reflection carries a deeper significance. “The mirror symbolizes the passage of time, allowing us to reflect on the past 70 years and our many milestones,” said Mr. Ong Ban, CEO of Sincere Watch Limited. “The infinite depth of the mirrored surface represents the boundless possibilities of the future.” This bold aesthetic was developed with MD’Art, specialists in cutting-edge dial-making techniques.
Czapek’s first bimetallic bracelet and case
The edition also introduces a steel and yellow gold outfit for a Czapek & Cie timepiece. Xavier de Roquemaurel, CEO of Czapek, highlighted the significance of the debut. “To celebrate Sincere’s Platinum Jubilee, we aimed to use platinum in an unexpected way,” he said. “We had long considered introducing a bimetallic bracelet and case; we realized it perfectly complements the mirrored dial. Featuring it for the first time on this special edition is a fitting tribute to our close partnership with Sincere.”
The timepiece is powered by Czapek’s in-house Calibre SXH5, a movement first introduced with the launch of the Antarctique back in 2020. It features seven skeletonized bridges inspired by the pocket watches of François Czapek, a free-sprung balance and a micro-rotor made from recycled platinum. Handcrafted finishes include beveling, laser engravings, and a play of contrasting surfaces. On the reverse side, the exhibition caseback is decorated with a commemorative 70th anniversary logo.
The 38-piece Czapek & Cie Antarctique S Mirrored Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition will be available at Sincere Fine Watches Boutiques across Southeast Asia, with a retail price of S$48,800 (including GST).
