To mark 100 years of the iconic Trinity, Cartier conjures up an immersive experience that pays homage to the triple-stacked ring. From July 15th to 23rd at Singapore’s The Arts House, visitors will navigate through seven interconnected rooms that explore Trinity’s journey from its daring creation to its current iconic status.

Trinity: From 1924 to today

The Trinity rings, each one crafted from yellow, rose, and white gold, symbolize the unity and magic of the number three. This trio represents the three Cartier brothers — Louis, Pierre, and Jacques — as well as the Maison’s three historic boutiques in Paris, London, and New York.

The interlinked bands of Trinity sit atop and below one another as if symbolic of the multitudinous forms of love — filial, familial, friendly, marital, infinite, and indefinite.

Created in 1924, the Trinity ring broke with traditional jewelry design. Its chromatic combination of three different golds, the fluidity of the rings, and the simplicity of the design all contributed to its symbolic strength and enduring allure. The ring’s early acclaim is closely linked to the poet and artist Jean Cocteau, who, in the 1930s, adopted the distinctive style of wearing two Trinity rings stacked on his left pinky. Cocteau’s romantic and poetic bond with the ring elevated it to a timeless emblem of his artistic spirit and legacy.

Trinity’s captivating journey has seen it adorn elite circles of fashion, from Hollywood stars to café society elites. Today, it remains the choice of cultural icons, celebrating the diversity of bonds and universality.

The anniversary celebration includes the release of rare reissues of cult designs, such as the Trinity bracelet and a new bold, maximal-scale ring. These pieces pay homage to Cartier’s rich history and savoir-faire while maintaining the timeless modernity of the Trinity.
