Breitling announces its latest collaboration with NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, resulting in the creation of limited-edition Chronomat timepieces. The new series introduces a new Chronomat GMT and a Chronomat B01 chronograph in gold, but not before presenting the athlete with an exclusive Chronomat B01 with a special Arabic dial.

In honoring Antetokounmpo’s incredible achievements and indomitable spirit, Breitling presents an exclusive “One of One” Chronomat B01 timepiece designed specifically for the 6’11 athlete. The bespoke watch features the striking green shade that’s a nod to Antetokounmpo’s team, the Milwaukee Bucks, with whom he achieved legendary status by winning a championship. The dial is adorned with golden Arabic numerals, a white inner bezel, and white contrasting chronograph counters. 

A New Chronomat GMT and B01 Chronograph

The partnership also introduces a new 40mm steel Chronomat GMT as well as a new 42mm gold Chronomat B01 chronograph.

Both watches feature unique design elements that reflect Antetokounmpo’s personality, such as his initials on the central hand (marked “GA”) and a basketball emblem cleverly incorporated into the chronograph counter. The same dial color distinguishes these special editions in limited availability — 1,750 units of the GMT and 250 units of the chronograph.

Georges Kern, the CEO of Breitling, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Giannis has an incredible personal style and sense of self that we knew we had to capture in a timepiece. Our longstanding ambassador became a collaborator who not only brought his aesthetic to the project but also his indomitable spirit.”

Antetokounmpo’s signature can be found on the caseback of the GMT model, while the chronograph offers a view of the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 movement and its golden rotor. The watches come in special-edition packaging with a personal note from the “Greek Freak” himself.

An Expansion of the Chronomat B01 42 Collection

In addition to the collaboration with Antetokounmpo, Breitling has also introduced new executions of its Chronomat B01 42 collection. The collection now includes the Rouleaux-inspired rubber strap, providing a sporty alternative to the classic metal bracelet. The palette of the Chronomat B01 has been expanded with a new green colorway, as well as titanium versions for those who prefer a lightweight option.

In spite of the new additions and updates, the classic features that have defined the Chronomat line remain intact. The iconic “onion” crown and signature rider tabs on the bezel continue to showcase the watch’s aeronautical roots and functionality. And that Rouleaux bracelet that Victoria Beckham made posh? I remain very much a fan of.
