For its first time exhibiting at the SIHH, Bovet has come up with a great introduction, designed to turn heads and solidify its place at the fair: the Bovet Virtuoso IX: Double Time Zone 10-Day Power Reserve Big Date Flying Tourbillon.

If any independent brand belongs in the hallowed halls of the Palexpo at SIHH, it’s Bovet. Founded in 1822 and reimagined and reinvigorated by owner Pascal Raffy, who has his fingers in everything, it is Bovet. One of the few brands in the industry capable of making its own balance springs, Bovet has a high-tech manufacture in Dimier, Switzerland, and does all its own assembly in an actual castle in Môtiers.

Raffy is committed to keeping Bovet contemporary from a technical and complication standpoint, while still respecting the brand’s history and tradition.

A great example of this is Bovet’s SIHH timepiece the Tourbillon Amadéo Fleurier Virtuoso IX.

For this spectacular timepiece, Bovet has created a new movement and put it inside a 46.30mm diameter Fleurier Amadéo convertible case (capable of being transformed, with no tools, from a traditional wristwatch into a reversible timepiece, a pocket watch or a table clock).

1-minute flying tourbillon, off-center hours, center axis minute hand, with the seconds on the tourbillon, big date, power reserve indicator (10-day power reserve), off-center second time zone with 24-hour hand (both hour displays use the same center axis minute hand), 24-city second time zone display at 10 o’clock

Dial

Blue flinqué and hand-engraved blued bridges, reverse hand-fitting (hours, minutes on center axis), open-worked dial on the reverse side, all surfaces engraved with a bris de verre (“broken glass” in English) motif, then coated with a blue CVD treatment
