In continuation of a collection that has come to re-define the brand, Bell & Ross has announced the release of a new limited edition BR 05, the Artline Steel & Gold. The 40mm steel case is punctuated by vertical striping along the 18k rose gold bezel and bracelet center links. The watch, which will be limited to 99 pieces, is a follow up to the all steel BR 05 Artline released in 2022.

Deeply set within the textured bezel, the dial of the new BR 05 Artline Steel & Gold features applied indices which punctuate the brown sunray dial. The BR-Cal.321-1 automatic movement, derived from the Sellita SW300-1, features a 54-hour power reserve which can be viewed through the sapphire crystal caseback. Ensuring that the distinctly modern timepiece is suited to a wide array of lifestyles, the case is water resistant to 100 meters.

While the striped metal is meant to evoke the Streamline Moderne aesthetic of the 1930’s Art Deco design movement, its combination with two tone steel and rose gold results in a watch that feels somewhat out-of-time. Its base inspiration comes from vintage design aesthetic which seems all the more popular every year, yet it is set in a very contemporary, even trendy, integrated steel sports watch design.

That juxtaposition is further challenged by the rose gold colorway, which lends the watch an almost 1970s or 1980s retro charm. It’s the stylistic equivalent of Gordon Gekko, in all his two-toned Wall Street glory, traveling back in time by way of a Junkers Ju 52.

Over the past few years, Bell & Ross has seen continued success and growth within the BR 05 collection with an ever expanding array of colors, metals, and dial configurations being offered.
