Gregory Kissling Appointed CEO of Breguet
The House of Breguet has announced the appointment of Gregory Kissling as its new CEO, effective October 1, 2024. Under the leadership of Marc Hayek, President of Breguet, this significant appointment is set to usher in a new chapter for the venerable watchmaking maison.
With a career spanning more than two decades at the Swatch Group, Kissling’s expertise in both microtechnology and luxury management has solidified his reputation as one of the industry’s most accomplished leaders. His academic background includes a Master’s degree in Microtechnology Engineering, an MBA, and a Master’s in Luxury Management. Kissling joined Omega, one of Swatch Group’s flagship brands, early in his career, eventually becoming Vice President of Product Development in 2022.
Known for its rich legacy dating back to its founding in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the House of Breguet has long been revered for its innovations, including the invention of the tourbillon, among other great things, even down to the perfect oil recipe that Jack Forster retells here. Now, under Kissling’s stewardship, the brand seeks to bolster its presence in the global luxury watch market while staying true to its heritage of exceptional craftsmanship.
Marc Hayek expressed his confidence in Kissling’s ability to lead the maison into a new era. “Gregory Kissling’s experience and vision align perfectly with Breguet’s values of innovation, precision, and elegance,” said Hayek. “We believe his leadership will be instrumental in expanding Breguet’s global reach while maintaining the heritage and prestige that define the brand.”
Kissling’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Breguet, which has been investing in both technological advancements and the artistic aspects of haute horlogerie. Breguet’s pieces often showcase intricate complications, delicate craftsmanship, and a timeless aesthetic that appeals to both collectors and connoisseurs. Exhibit A: The Classique Double Tourbillon Quai d’Horloge 5345, which was recently recreated in rose gold. With Kissling at the helm, the brand is expected to deepen its focus on innovation while expanding its appeal in emerging markets.
