Just a year ago, Sincere Fine Watches was announced as the exclusive retailer for Fabergé, marking the arrival of the luxury brand’s watch collection in Singapore and Malaysia. While the Maison is renowned for its iconic Imperial Easter eggs, it has also carved out a place in watchmaking, in keeping with the standards of workmanship set by its founder, Peter Carl Fabergé. 

Fabergé has worked with industry titans, Agenhor SA and Vaucher Manufacture, since its watchmaking renaissance. Agenhor, with its expertise in complex movements, worked with Fabergé to create intricate and unique mechanisms for its celebrated Compliquée Peacock collection, as well as for the Dalliance and Visionnaire collections.

Specially for Sincere Fine Watches’ 70th anniversary celebrations, Fabergé introduces the Compliquée Butterfly Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition in a series of ten unique watches. Each timepiece in this limited-edition series is a wearable work of art, distinguished by hand-painted dials featuring intricate butterfly motifs — an emblem chosen to represent Sincere’s Platinum Jubilee theme of “A New Era.” 

A tribute to Fabergé’s legacy

For Sincere Fine Watches, this partnership, which was made official last September, was an opportunity to offer its clientele an even wider selection of prestigious timepieces from the heritage jewelry house. In 2015, Fabergé received its first Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) award when the Compliquée Peacock watch won in the Ladies’ Hi-Mechanical category. 

In showcasing the beauty of the butterfly in its highly imaginative design, the ten unique variations of this Platinum Jubilee Edition are crafted with dials that capture the rich flora and fauna of Asia — an homage to Sincere’s presence in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan. Each dial is distinguished with different adornments whilst featuring micro-painted orchids and hibiscus flowers. Seven pieces include settings with various precious stones and colored sapphires and tsavorites, namely, Blossom, Oasis, Lush, Tropics, Gardenia, Sunray, and Blooms, the latter standing among five other nominated watches in the Ladies’ Complication category in the 2024 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. The remaining three — Sundusk, with an orange-and-yellow butterfly, and Buddings and Springtime, of which both feature a black-and-blue butterfly — keep the dials vibrant with handpainted florals without additional gem-setting.

For the Fabergé Compliquée Butterfly Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition, Fabergé once again collaborated with Agenhor Manufacture to produce the caliber 6901, a manually wound movement that powers the time-only display. The butterfly’s wings unfurl gracefully to mark the minutes, returning to their starting position when the leading wing reaches 60. The mother-of-pearl hour ring rotates counter-clockwise around the crown at three o’clock, while the minute track is embellished with laser-engraved butterflies.

The Fabergé Compliquée Butterfly Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is encased in 18K rose gold and adorned with 1.83 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds. The timepiece comes paired with colored alligator straps in options of turquoise, red, or blue, though for those who prefer a more classic option, an additional black satin strap is included.

The (uncomplicated) vision behind the butterfly

The butterfly motif in the Compliquée collection is significant, not just as a design element, but as a symbol of Sincere’s continued evolution. The Fabergé Compliquée Butterfly Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is priced at SGD $108,000, with all ten iterations exclusively available at Sincere Fine Watches boutiques.
